About Australia Awards Scholarships
The Australia Awards Scholarships have been in existence for a while under the directive of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Interested foreign students willing to study at Australian universities are invited to apply for the Australia Awards Scholarships.
The main objective of the Australia Awards Scholarships is to contribute to the development needs of countries that are in partnership with Australia, equivalent with bilateral and regional agreements.
The Australia Awards Scholarships are particularly open to students from developing countries for Bachelor, master’s, or Doctorate studies at any Australian university and Technical and Further Education Institutions.

Necessary Conditions
To be awarded the Australia Awards Scholarships, applicants will need to sign an agreement with the Commonwealth of Australia, that they will strictly adhere to the conditions of the scholarship.
However, after completing their studies, awardees are to leave for their home country at least for 2 years, in negligence to this, the awardee incurs the debt of the total cost of their scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements.
In order to be eligible for the Australia Awards Scholarships, applicants must;
- be a citizen of the listed participating countries
- be 18 years before or on the 1st February 2025
- not be from Australia, live in Australia, or is applying for a visa to reside in Australia permanentlyÂ
- not be engaged, married, or in a spousal relationship to an Australian or New Zealand citizenÂ
- Has never benefited from the Australia Awards Scholarships, only if they have lived in any other country aside Australia twice as long as they have spent in AustraliaÂ
- not be a serving military memberÂ
- not apply for a study level lower than the one they have once acquiredÂ
- meet all necessary criteria of the Department of Home Affairs, in order to have a student visa.
