Eligibility Requirements
In order to be granted a McGill University MasterCard Scholarship, it is a necessity to comply with the following:
- Be admissible to one of the eligible programs at McGill University.
- Have NEVER registered for and/or pursued a master’s degree.
- Be a citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country and a resident (list of countries view hours).
- Have a valid passport and be a foreign national studying in Canada on a study permit (with student status). Those with US, Canadian, UK, or EU citizenship plus asylum/refugee/permanent resident status are excluded.
- Records of service, leadership, and activity in your school or community that are exceedingly high.
- Be ready to give back to your community.
- They should be less than 35 years old at the time of application.
- Applicants with First Class Honors or equivalent have a higher likelihood of admission.
How To Apply
- Check that you meet the requirements.
- Fill out the Application Form for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program*.
- Post-application pre-screening of your application, the team for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program will request further documentation from you.
- Those who pass the pre-screening process will be invited to apply to McGill University. Those who will be accepted will be given detailed guidelines on how to enroll at McGill University including how to make an application without the fee.
- The last procedure one must undertake will be for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program application. If you satisfy the pre-screening requirement, you will be invited to apply through the McGill admissions procedures to the program you are studying.
Late applications for the program will not be accepted outside the designated application period stated by the program.
